PKR’s Johari makes ‘sex video’ documentary

PETALING JAYA: PKR has released a documentary proclaiming Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s innocence in the infamous “sex video”.

Hosted by Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul, the about 30-minute-long video included a detailed analysis of Anwar’s physical characteristics as well as accusations against the Datuk T trio.

Clips from the original 20-minute “sex video” allegedly featuring Anwar were also put into the documentary, although the private parts were censored.

“I am a leader, and I take responsibility. I alone am responsible for what I’m doing,” Johari told reporters at PKR’s

Merchant Square headquarters.

“I am ready to be charged,” he added, after reporters warned him about possible legal action for showing the video in public.

The PKR MP said that he felt responsible for being shown the sex video by members of the Datuk T trio, one day after it was aired to the press on March 21.

The members of Datuk T are businessman Shahzryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Rahim Tamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

The documentary started out with Johari addressing the camera reminiscent of the TV3 expose show Majalah 3.

The PKR MP began with a physical comparison of Anwar and the “actor” depicted in the sex video, pointing at the latter’s use of spectacles, closely cropped hair and “big nipples”.

Johari also noted that the “actor” had a sharp nose, and added that Anwar’s was both rounder and shorter.

He also pointed out shadows in the sex video, and alleged that there may have been a source of light in the room directed at the “actor” and the prostitute, as opposed to a previously claimed pitch-black room.

The third person in the film, Johari added, may have also been in the room while the sexual tryst was taking place.

“The actors knew that they were being filmed. (…) The third person was in the room (at the time),” Johari said, as the sex clip was replayed.

Rahim’s motivation

At one point, Johari even alleged that cosmetics may have been used on the “actor” to make him resemble the PKR supremo.

To test this theory out, Johari said he travelled to Bangkok to meet with a makeup artist. To the mirth of reporters present, Johari was turned into a lookalike of the legendary film star P Ramlee.

The Sungai Petani MP said that this was an arduous process, and would have required more than four hours to do.

Johari said that Rahim’s motivation behind the video was to get a place back in Malaysian politics, especially with his sullied career.

In 1994, Rahim was accused of raping a minor. Although acquitted, he subsequently resigned as chief minister.

Regarding Eskay’s and Shuib’s part in the episode, Johari claimed that the two had dealings with Rahim, especially as the latter was the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority’s (Risda) chairman.

Johari alleged that this video was a way of securing a contract with Rahim, which involved business dealings of “hundreds of millions” of ringgit.

Speaking on the documentary itself, Johari said that production took some 34 days to make.

Adding that it had been self-sponsored, he said that he started research on the matter after he was shown the original sex video by Datuk T.

Appealing to the public to watch and duplicate the documentary, he said that it would be uploaded on YouTube as soon as possible. - FMT
